schools areaCactus Music School's Workshops combine the most exciting music from the classical repertoire with rhythm activities, actions, singing and live performers for an all-round experience, bringing the world of classical music and live performing straight into the classroom. The workshops are divided into two 45 minute sessions and can be worked around existing timetables in school, so that a break can be inserted between the sessions. The Cactus Music School team adapts the workshop format according to the age and needs of the class and we are open to suggestions from the class or music teachers. We offer these workshops as either a standalone activity or with an added performance, which can be included in a school assembly. The performance will be between 20-30 minutes long. Please note that the performance must be added to the existing time slot allocated to the workshop, with a short break if necessary. Cactus Music School staff will not be able to wait for long periods of time. Each workshop is built around an existing piece of the classical music repertoire and includes a narrative, descriptive exercises, creative activities like drawing and creating actions for the music, coming up with rhythms to accompany the different sections of the music and singing. Cactus Music School prides itself in always providing live music for its workshops. They are run by two Cactus staff and a volunteer. All our staff and volunteers have current enhanced CRB checks. In addition, we can include any musical instruments the school has into our activities and teachers are encouraged to participate as well. If you would like to talk to us about a workshop for your school please email us here and one of the team will get back to you as soon as possible. |
